Education Week, the nation's premier publication for education news, featured a commentary last week by Kirsten Olsen and Valerie Brown advocating mindfulness practices to help school leaders reduce stress and improve their professional effectiveness. Over at the Contemplative Learning blog, Tom and I reflect on the importance of this idea, and how it relates to work we do using the contemplative practices of silence, solitude, simplicity, stability, and service to help school leaders in similar ways.
