I am tremendously honored to be joining the Board of Scholars for the Bluegrass Institute, Kentucky's first and only think tank dedicated to free-market solutions for the Commonwealth's most pressing public policy problems.
The Bluegrass Institute has made education reform one of its leading concerns in recent years. Their work on this issue has brought me in close contact with Institute staff members like President Jim Waters and education analyst Dick Innes as we partner on topics close to my own heart like charter schools and school choice.
I also serve on the board of directors for the Kentucky Charter Schools Association, for which the Bluegrass Institute is a close coalition partner. Joining the Institute's Board of Scholars will further deepen the alliance between these organizations as we work to expand educational options for Kentucky families.
The Institute's Board of Scholars, which also includes Drs. Steve Gohmann (University of Louisville), Brian Strow (WKU), and Eric Schansberg (Indiana University-Southeast) provides research-based perspectives on how empowering families with more choices and freedom makes for stronger, more prosperous communities. I look forward to joining this august group and contributing to their important work.
